When we moved into our ‘orange home’ in July 2016 we in fact knew that it was a bit small for our plans: there were only three bedrooms that we could turn into six sleeping places to give each of us a certain degree of privacy.
We knew we needed a minimum of eight spaces for our plans, but at the time the ‘orange house’ was the best option, and we wanted to make a start to showing that we exist.Fast forward.
We are in the process of recruiting a fourth resident besides Jonathan, Daniel and Loyda. So we have started to look for more spacious accommodation. Although we are also thinking of building our own home, we know that this takes a lot of work and time, and we are not yet ready for that.
Although we were not yet seriously hunting for a new home, we were quite suddenly presented with an opportunity that would allow us to grow, would hardly be more expensive than our current home, and we would have an option to buy the house in due course if the future tells us that that is the way to go. It was an easy decision! The new house is a 15 minute walk from where we are now, and closer to the centre of town.
We are planning to move 1st August! Of course this will stretch our organisational capacity and inventiveness, but once we have moved there is a lot to celebrate: the first anniversary of our community and the house-warming of our new community home!
The pictures give an impression of our new home.
