When I was staying with my brother, the ideal moment arose to say thank you to Eric Jager on behalf of the president of the Ruach Foundation.
I have known Eric since our student days many years ago. Currently he lives in Sherborne, England with his wife, and based on his interest in our work translates my blogs into English for the Vivir Juntos website.
At the end of 2017 he also got sponsorship for his solo run in his hometown to financially help Ruach and to bring Ruach’s work to the attention of a wider public. He is also active in the Anglican church community that independently made a donation to Ruach. So there were plenty of reasons to surprise Eric with a small symbolic gift, an earthenware house that represents our community home.
It was no coincidence that Eric and I were in the Netherlands at the same time. He had planned it in a way that we could together visit a few groups who wanted to hear more about the work in Juigalpa. Both he and I enjoyed these meetings.
With this small gesture to Eric we would like to emphasize the importance of having an active group of supporters! It’s because of so many people in our circle who morally and financially support us that we are able to do in Juigalpa what we do. Every one contributes in their own unique way. And it is not the ‘quantity’ that counts most, but the quality of involvement. In the many conversations I had while in the Netherlands I have felt this sympathy and commitment.
Many many thanks for what each of you who read this contribute by what you say and what you do, in prayer or any other form of support. It’s also because of you that we have reached this stage and will be able to go further.
