According to our constitution the Ruach Foundation needs to elect a new Board every two years. Our first Board was elected in July 2015, so this month the election of a new Board was due.
The 9th of July was the day! All the members of the General Assembly and the old Board were invited and fortunately more than the minimum of 50% of them were present in the meeting, so the elections could take place.
Those eligible to vote discussed how the election should take place and they agreed that new candidates would be proposed for two positions on the Board vacated by old Board members. The other Board members offered to stay in the same positions they had been holding for another term of two years. After the discussion we voted for or against the nominated persons for each of the positions on the Board.
The new Board consists of: Ana Alicia Sevilla (Chair); Ada Francys Morales (Vice-Chair) ; Martha Rocha (Secretary); Marileth Lopez (Treasurer) ; Luz Milde Castro (Fund raiser); and Genesis Chevarra; Carmen Moreira (Members).
The new Board can officially start functioning after the deeds of the meeting are first accredited by our solicitor and presented to the Ministry of Local Government in Managua.
