“The best proof of love is to be always together, hand in hand, with faith in the Lord that everything is possible” – Genesis Guevara Castro
Tell us who you are
I am Genesis Guevara Castro. I’m 21 years old and I am studying Psychology. I also support my mother in her clinic.
Why did you start participating in the reflection group in Juigalpa?
My prime motivation is my sister Gracia. She has an intellectual disability, which is the reason I became interested in helping her and other young people in similar circumstances.
What is your role within the group and the Ruach Foundation?
I am a board member
Why do you think this role suits you?
I enjoy offering opportunites to these young people to improve the quality of their lives. It strongly motivates me. It is worthwhile to commit myself to this cause and to make it a goal for my life.
Why do you participate in the project?
I would like to show to society in general that intellectually disabled young people deserve our attention, love, understanding and support.
I also want to offer these young people the chance to improve their social skills. This will benefit their emotional development and will lead to a better quality of life.
Which challenges do you see now and in the future?
I would like to see a wider group of society rallying to support this cause so that we go into the future as one big family.
