In my previous newsletter I wrote about our ambitions to find donors abroad through the American organisation Global Giving. Because almost all of us have friends, relatives or acquaintances who live abroad, we asked for your support in informing them about our work.
For you to do this, information in English is available, and of course there is lots of information in Dutch on the Vivir Juntos website that is regularly translated by Eric Jager into English. The more people worldwide know about our work, the higher the probability that someone will make a donation to support our work. On 12th June we entered into a Global Giving campaign about which some of you have already received information. The idea was to raise a large amount of money in one day with a subordinate aim of increasing the number of donors. We did not raise enough money on 12th June, but nonetheless we are pleased that during June we received around $ 2500,- from about 36 donors from many countries through the Global Giving website. This is far from an insignificant result. The money, minus transaction costs, was transferred to our account.
Please have a look at the Global Giving site every now and then. We do not have a lot of PR-experience, but we do hope to strenghten our position at Global Giving. It’s worth a go, and after all: nothing ventured means nothing gained!
