You will find our annual report for 2020 on the website (only available in Dutch). Hopefully this will give you a vivid picture of last year’s activities of the Community Home in Juigalpa, Nicaragua.
No annual report is complete without an audit of its figures by an independent audit committee. Because of COVID regulations it was not possible for the two auditors to meet with the Treasurer. So one member of the auditing committee to met face-to-face with the Treasurer while the other participated via Zoom from the comfort of his home. Relevant documentation was shared beforehand. You can read the positive statement of the audit committee at the back of the annual report.
The new Board of Vivir Juntos on July 1, 2021
In the previous newsletter we wrote that Ruud Lambregts had already joined the Board. In addition to Ruud, Willy de Mooij and Henk Verheul will join the board on 1 July. Willy is well-versed in finance matters and will therefore become the Treasurer. Henk has got Nicaragua experience. Ruud and Henk will work out between them how they will divide the tasks of Chairman and Secretary. Niko Tetteroo and myself will step down from the board on 1 July.
We are all very happy that Annelies and Michiel Witz are continuing their work for Vivir Juntos. This guarantees our website remains up to date and that Newsletters will be issued in good time. Annelies and Michiel are not part of the Board, but their work is indispensable.
On Saturday 13 March the old and new Vivir Juntos Board members got to know each other in a Zoom meeting. The first agreements about the transfer were made and we assume the transfer will be seamless and hardly noticeable which will guarantee a good future for the Community Home in Nicaragua.
